Réunion Regards Croisés sur le(s) futur(s)

Interdisciplinary and Francophone Network for Urban and Spatial Research

2025/06/24

On September 29, a full-day, French-language network meeting will take place, focusing on urban and spatial research from various disciplinary perspectives. The event aims to foster exchange between Francophone—especially Senegalese—and German-speaking researchers. The goal of the meeting is to expand existing contacts and establish a platform for ongoing exchange.

Dr. Abdourahmane Seck, anthropologist and historian at Université Gaston-Berger, will deliver a public and hybrid keynote lecture on the topic: “Tout ce que l'hivernage n'a pas rendu au ruissellement des choses, là gisent nos futur(s) accrochés à ce qui ne reviendra pas…”

All those interested are warmly invited to attend the lecture either in person or online. Detailed location information and the access link can be found in the flyers currently available for download on the website.

Venue: Residenzschloss 1, t.b.a.

Following the keynote, there will be two internal workshops intended for registered participants.

The first workshop will feature selected short presentations by members of the network in a hybrid format, focusing on the exchange of perspectives, methods, and theoretical concepts in urban and spatial research. The selected speakers will be introduced to registered participants in a separate invitation message.

The second short workshop will offer a look into the future of the network, exploring opportunities for future collaboration and providing an insight into possibilities for Senegalese-German research partnerships.
